As the Fabrikator team, we are pleased to announce that we have added the first version of the Cost Account feature, which is one of the features most demanded by our users. The cost calculation feature we have already released will allow you to calculate cost on a prescription basis and will work in compliance with Parasut in future releases.
How to Use the Cost Calculation Feature in Fabrikator?
You can reach the cost calculation screen by clicking the “Calculate” link in the “Recipe Cost” section of the recipe detail display screen.
You will see all the products and raw materials in the recipe screen. If you add the unit cost information for that product to the related field in the unit purchase price fields, the total recipe cost will be calculated instantly. You can update your saved cost account later at any time.
Calculating the cost of your prescription is that easy!
Using with Currency
You can enter your unit costs in Euros, Dollars and Pounds, and you can set exchange rate information for each product in the recipe. Considering that you buy each product with different exchange agreements from different suppliers, we have developed the exchange information in a product-based manner. You can also calculate the cost of the products you purchase on different dates in the same currency by using the exchange rate on your invoice.
For example: Suppose that the prescription contains iron, zinc and screws that you purchase in dollars. When you buy iron, the dollar rate is 5.1 TL and when you buy zinc, you get 5.25 TL. Suppose you fix your dollar exchange rate at 4.9 with your supplier. You can calculate the cost of each raw material in the recipe at the desired exchange rate. In this way, your purchase costs will be reflected more accurately.
If the cost of all raw materials in your prescription is in the same currency, you can see your prescription cost in this currency. However, if your prescription contains different currency units, you must select hesapla Calculate as Turkish Lira ”option and add the Turkish Lira equivalents of the related currencies in order to calculate the cost.
Using with Unit Converter
Even if you use your raw materials with a unit other than the buying unit in the prescription, you can easily use the cost calculation. Simply enter the purchase unit price of your raw material based on the unit defined on the Parasut. The Fabrikator will then calculate your total cost using the unit used in the recipe.
Using with Fixed Costs
You can define your additional costs such as labor, packaging and electricity as a product on Parasut and then use these products in your cost account. Below is an example of a lemonade recipe with labor and packaging costs included.
What’s Next?
While you have started using the first version of the Cost Account, we are continuing our work uninterruptedly. The most important pillar of our cost calculation-specific roadmap will be to integrate your cost calculation with your Parasut account and allow you to use the purchase prices available on the Parasut. In addition, you will be able to add your non-material but resin-based fixed expenses to your cost account.
You can continue to follow all updates about the Fabrikator through our blog and emails. In the meantime, we are happy to learn your feedback and suggestions. We would like to remind you that you can reach us at [email protected] at any time.
